John Heitkemper joined Gould Asset Management in 2024.

His responsibilities include portfolio management, investment and financial market research, and client relationship management. John brings over 20 years of experience in fixed income asset management, with tenures at several investment firms, including Franklin Templeton and Merrill Lynch.  John started in the finance industry as a research analyst, specializing in corporate credit, and advanced to senior portfolio manager roles with a focus on high yield bonds and leveraged loans.  He began his career as a Research Assistant at the Federal Reserve Board in Washington, DC.

John earned a BA in Economics from Pomona College and an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and is a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of Los Angeles. John lives in Claremont with his wife and two daughters. He spends his free time traveling, running, hiking, watching sports and serving on the boards of the Claremont Educational Foundation and Sustainable Claremont.
